Learning

At Schoolhouse Learning Center, the child comes first. We take pride in not only providing for their physical and emotional needs, but for their developmental needs as well. Our curriculum was created for its balance between both teacher-directed and child-initiated learning. It is our goal to help the children develop the passion for learning that they will carry with them throughout their life.  Schoolhouse Learning Center uses a weekly theme based curriculum that is designed to foster social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development and to enhance learning in literacy, math, science, social studies, and the arts.  This allows the teachers to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, content-rich program for children of all backgrounds and skill levels that is constantly matching the interests of the students. Please be sure to look for the weekly lesson plans hanging in the classrooms.

This is a great preschool. It's in a cool old building with lots of space and a huge playground. They have fantastic staff who all care about their kids. They also have very low staff turnover. In my experience you can tell a good daycare within the first 5 seconds of walking through the door and SHLC passes the test.

My daughter has been attending Schoolhouse Learning Center since she was just 12 weeks old. Now in her fourth classroom, we’ve had consistently wonderful experiences with every teacher and staff member she’s worked with. She is truly treated like family. We've seen so much progress in her development — socially, emotionally, and academically. One thing that is especially comforting is seeing how all of the teachers, even those who aren’t in her classroom, know her by name and warmly greet her during drop-off and pick-up. The communication from staff has always been clear and thoughtful, keeping us informed and involved in her daily activities. We feel confident each day knowing she is in a safe and loving environment. I would highly recommend Schoolhouse Learning Center to any family looking for a place where their child will be cared for and supported like one of their own.

They have been wonderful with my son, who has a few special needs. He has gone from toddler to preschooler. It wasn't an easy journey but they were definitely there to encourage, guide, & support. On rough drop off days they sent pics of him post melt down, that help get me I better spirits. They are truly a beautiful group in Trumbauersville!!!
